The Space Coast’s board-level marine repair
Most marine dealers and manufacturers have stepped back from real repair. Bring in a fishfinder or chartplotter with a dead board and the standard answer is a flat-rate exchange, often $850 to $1,600 for a mid-range unit, rather than a diagnosis of what actually failed. That’s scan-and-replace, and it’s the industry default now.
We do the opposite: open the unit, find the failed component or corroded trace, and repair the board itself. It’s the Space Coast’s only board-level marine electronics repair, and the work is real component- and connector-level rework on the board itself.
Saltwater is the enemy, and it’s constant
With roughly 33,000 registered boats running in local saltwater, corrosion-driven electrical failure is routine rather than rare. Salt air and spray get into connectors, headers, and board traces long before a hull shows its age, and the failure often shows up as a unit that won’t power on, won’t hold a GPS fix, or drops sonar return out of nowhere. That’s a corrosion problem at the board level, and it’s usually recoverable if the corrosion hasn’t fully bridged or eaten through a trace.

Can a water- or corrosion-damaged marine unit be repaired?
In many cases, yes — saltwater corrosion damage is repairable if it’s caught before the corrosion fully bridges or eats through a circuit trace. Every unit gets a free diagnosis to determine whether the board is a realistic repair before any work or cost is involved.
Do you repair marine electronics from any brand?
We work on the major marine electronics brands, including Garmin, Humminbird, Lowrance, Raymarine, Simrad, and Furuno. If your brand isn’t listed, ask anyway, because board-level repair usually comes down to the specific fault on the board rather than the badge on the case.
The OEM only offers a flat-rate replacement — can you actually repair mine?
Often, yes. Many marine electronics manufacturers now respond to a failed unit with a flat-rate exchange rather than a genuine repair, and board-level repair is the alternative to that replacement cost for units that are still repairable.
